Alumni

For 55 years, students have been attending Kent Career Tech Center for hands-on, career-focused education, college credits, certified technical training and connections to real-world experiences, all while in high school, setting them up for future success. If you have ever attended a program at Kent Career Tech Center, even when it was called "Kent Skills Center" or the "College Ave. Skills Center", you are invited to join the KCTC Alumni Network.

All KCTC Alumni are invited to a special Meet & Greet event during the Tech Center’s annual Open House on February 4 & 5 from 5-7 p.m. This will take place in the auditorium of KCTC East, 1655 East Beltline NE, GR.

Sign up so we can include you in future mailings and notifications of events.

Meet KCTC Alumni

Karen Barrose, in her police uniform, poses with man at East Kentwood High SchoolSoon after Karen Barrose started the Criminal Justice program at Kent Career Tech Center, this Godwin High grad knew law enforcement was in her future. Now she’s serving students and educators in her dream role as Community Patrol Officer at Kentwood Public Schools where she hopes young students see her as an example of what they could become, too.

When Ashley Sands started exploring health careers as a junior at Kent Career Tech Center in 2008, she didn’t know she would return to teach students just like her what it takes to become a phlebotomist. Her connection with her first health careers instructor, Linda Ford, continues to inspire and drive her success now after several successful years at Corwell Health.
